Do you do any professional research or can you recommend a professional researcher?

We do not carry out research for people, but do have various services on offer to members. We do not charge a fixed fee for most of these services but ask for donations to Society funds as appropriate.

There are local record research agents who will work for a set fee, and an enquirer should ascertain these fees before they commission work to be done on their behalf. You may purchase a single journal for £2.50 to see who advertises in our journal, but we cannot recommend any one researcher in preference to another.

Where do I start!

The Federation of Family History Societies has useful information on starting your family history research on its website which you can find at; http://www.ffhs.org.uk/tips/first.php

I am having problems tracing my ancestors in the Bristol area, can you point me in the right direction?
