Bristol Home Children

Between 1869 and 1939 about 100,000 children, casualties of unemployment and poverty in Britain, were uprooted from their homes and families and sent to Canada. The Bristol, children were a small percentage of that 100,000, taken to Canada by many different agencies including Barnardo's, Quarriers, both Church of England and Roman Catholic societies. Shirley Hodgson prepared this website so that the Bristol children will not be forgotten. The site includes a database of names.
